Optional Snakes

I've always thought Rabbit was cool, but let me tell you about an moment I witnessed:
At Deadfall Lake we all decided to swim in our clothes, calling it "laundry day". Canyon was standing over the water on a large fallen tree preparing to jump in. Rabbit moved to join him on the large gray log. Stepping into the lake into water above her knees she disturbed a black and yellow two foot snake. The snake shot straight out of the water where she was standing and tried unsuccessfully to gain purchase on the log in front of Rabbit. I watched Rabbit watch the snake writhe, bending it's body into multiple curvilinear shapes until it gave up and shot back into the water where she was standing and swam away. I heard not a peep from Rabbit and her body language was relaxed for a person who was watching a snaky spectacle while sharing a bath with the surprised reptile. I'm happy that she's so completely comfortable with all forms of wildlife. After the snake departed, Rabbit calmly stepped onto the log and went for a swim. Cool cucumber.
